# How to Connect Your LinkedIn Account

> Link a LinkedIn account through a secure hosted login. Your password never passes through GrowthxAI.

A **sender** is a LinkedIn account (or mailbox) that runs your outreach. The account owner logs in on a secure hosted page, so GrowthxAI never sees or stores their password.

  Only **Owners** and **Managers** can connect senders.

## Before you start

Please read this before connecting:

* GrowthxAI Outreach is **not affiliated with LinkedIn**.
* Automating a LinkedIn account breaches LinkedIn's User Agreement. **The account holder carries the risk of restriction.**
* A session token is stored on the owner's behalf. They can revoke it at any time by disabling the sender or logging out of LinkedIn.
* No identity rental: only connect accounts whose owners have agreed.

## How to connect

1. Go to **Senders** and click **Connect sender**.
2. Choose **LinkedIn**, tick the consent box, and click **Continue**.
3. Fill in the sender details:
   * **Client** (optional): the client this sender works for. Leave it as *No client* to share the sender across the workspace.
   * **Display name**: how the sender appears in tables and the Inbox, for example *Jane (Sales)*. The real profile name is pulled in after connecting.
   * **Owner email**: where re-login reminders and extension instructions are sent.
   * **Timezone**: the sender's working hours run in this timezone.
4. Click **Open hosted login** and sign in to LinkedIn, including any verification code LinkedIn asks for.

The sender appears straight away as **Connecting**. It turns **Connected** once the login is complete. The profile, connection count and inbox history follow within a few minutes.

**Important:** The hosted login link expires after **15 minutes**. If it expires, go back and generate a new one.

## Connecting someone else's account?

## What happens after connecting

* The sender starts at **warm-up level 0**, with low daily limits that rise over the following weeks.
* Accounts with fewer than 150 connections stay at level 0 for at least 28 days.
* The sender works Monday–Friday, 09:00–18:00 by default. You can change this on its **Schedule** tab.

## Troubleshooting

**1. "Hosted login did not complete"**

* The login was cancelled or the link expired.

✅ **Solution:** Open the sender and generate a fresh link. If you're not a Manager, ask one to send it.

**2. "Trial workspaces can connect up to 3 senders"**

* Trials are limited to 3 active senders.

✅ **Solution:** Add billing under **Settings → Billing** to connect more. See [Pricing Plans](/subscription-and-billing/pricing-plans).

**3. The sender is stuck on Connecting**

* The login wasn't finished.

✅ **Solution:** Generate a new link and complete the login within 15 minutes.
