# How to Securely Connect Someone Else's LinkedIn Account

> Send the account owner a hosted login link so they log in themselves. You never handle their password.

Agencies and sales teams often run outreach from a client's or colleague's LinkedIn account. You never need their password: send them a **hosted login link** and they log in themselves.

## Why send the link instead of opening it

Each LinkedIn sender's traffic goes through a proxy in one country. **The proxy is set to the country of whoever opens the link.**

If you open a client's link from another country, their LinkedIn activity would appear to come from your location, which looks suspicious to LinkedIn. Always let the account owner open it.

## How to do it

1. Go to **Senders → Connect sender** and choose **LinkedIn**.
2. Tick the consent box to confirm **you have the account owner's consent**.
3. Enter the details. Set **Owner email** to the account owner's address, so re-login reminders go to them.
4. On the last step, click **Copy link to send to the sender owner**.
5. Send the link to the account owner. They open it, log in to LinkedIn, and enter any verification code LinkedIn asks for.

The sender shows **Connecting** until they finish, then turns **Connected**.

**Important:** The link expires after **15 minutes**. Ask the owner to be ready before you send it.

## When the account is logged out later

If LinkedIn ends the session, the sender shows **Re-login needed**. Click **Send re-login link** on the sender's Overview tab. It's emailed to the owner, and you can also copy it. To avoid this altogether, ask the owner to install the [Chrome extension](/senders/chrome-extension-guide).

## Q: Can the owner see or revoke access?

Yes. They can end the session at any time by logging out of LinkedIn. A Manager can also **disable** the sender with **Purge stored secrets** ticked, which removes all stored session data.
