Why is my search import taking days?

Search imports run from a real LinkedIn account, so they follow the same safety rules as everything else. The job fetches one page every 20–90 minutes, only during the sender’s working hours, and within its daily search page limit. A large search can take several days. Click Check search before starting to see the estimated duration.

Why did my import stop before all results were fetched?

LinkedIn only returns a limited number of search results: 1,000 for a Classic search and 2,500 for Sales Navigator. A capped badge on the job means it reached that limit. Solution: Split your search into smaller searches, for example by location or seniority, and import each one separately.

Why can’t I choose a sender for a search import?

Only connected LinkedIn senders are listed. If a sender shows Re-login needed or another problem, fix it first. See Sender Statuses and Errors.

The sender shows “no search budget today”

The sender has used all of today’s search pages. The limit depends on its warm-up level, from 5 pages a day at level 0 to 80 at level 5. The import continues on the next working day.

My CSV won’t upload

Check that:
  • The file is .csv, .tsv or .txt and is 50 MB or smaller. Split larger files.
  • The first row is a header row, and there’s at least one data row.
  • You’ve mapped a LinkedIn URL, LinkedIn public identifier or email column. One of these is needed to spot duplicates.
  • No field is mapped twice (“Mapped twice”).

Why were some CSV rows skipped?

Rows with no LinkedIn identifier and no email can’t be matched, so they’re skipped. The duplicate check before importing shows how many rows this affects.

Will importing overwrite my existing leads?

No. Leads that already exist are merged: their existing data is kept, and only empty fields are filled from the file.

How are duplicates detected?

In this order: LinkedIn identifier (upper and lower case count as the same), then work email, then personal email. A lead is stored once per workspace.

Does importing connections use invitation or message limits?

No. It reads one page of up to 100 connections per hour, and doesn’t touch invitation or message limits.

Nothing was imported from a post

  • LinkedIn does not share who reposted a post, only who reacted and who commented. Pick at least one of those two.
  • The sender must be able to see the post. Try opening it while signed in as that account.
  • A post with few reactions and no comments simply has few people to import.

My repeating import didn’t run

  • Check the sender is still connected. A schedule whose sender was removed says so in the Repeating imports table.
  • Each run adds only new people. If nobody new has appeared since the last run, the job finishes with nothing imported, which is correct.
  • Runs are checked every 15 minutes and still obey the sender’s working hours and daily search budget.

Update-only mode didn’t create the leads I expected

That is what it is for. Update only never creates anyone: it matches on LinkedIn URL or email and changes just the columns you chose. Switch to Create and update if you want new people too.

Can I stop an import?

Yes. In the jobs table, click Pause, Resume or Cancel. Cancelling keeps the leads already imported, but a cancelled job can’t be restarted. Start a new import instead.

Why aren’t my imported leads being contacted?

Importing only adds leads to the workspace. To start outreach, enroll them in an active sequence. See How to Launch a Sequence and Enroll Leads.
